WELCOME MSC EURIBIA
The Future of Cruising
Discover a new way of exploring the world on MSC Euribia. Powered by Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG), MSC Euribia is the latest embodiment of MSC Cruises commitment to protecting the beautiful Blue Planet we take you to explore.
Boasting a whole array of advanced technologies and innovative design features that optimise efficiency and reduce the ships environmental impact, MSC Euribia takes us an important step closer to achieving our goal of net zero emissions across our fleet by 2050. Even the original artwork on her hull proudly urges us to join her to #savethesea.

SUPER CORAL PROGRAMME
Coral reefs are among the most biologically diverse ecosystems on Earth. These vital ecosystems now face grave threats to their survival from destructive fishing practices, sedimentation, pollution and above all climate change-induced bleaching events.
The MSC Foundation has been working with leading coral and marine experts since 2018 to research, develop, test and refine methods to reverse the decline in coral reefs in the 64-square-mile Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve in The Bahamas.
eBioAtlas: BIODIVERSITY SAMPLING FROM CRUISE LINERS USING eDNA
An innovative partnership was announced in 2023 with NatureMetrics, the pioneering nature intelligence and environmental DNA specialists. Three vessels collected eDNA samples from seawater while operating in international waters in the North Atlantic
These were sent to NatureMetrics for analysis, who identified more than 3,274 distinct species, including 17 listed on the International Union for Conservation of Nature Red List of Threatened Species. These included the critically endangered European eel, the Atlantic halibut and many vulnerable species including fin and sperm whales. All data collected is made available through the eBioAtlas programme to support species inventories, mitigate biodiversity loss, and accelerate progress towards a nature-positive future.
MSC CRUISES’ FLEET TO REACH NET-ZERO EMISSIONS BY 2050
There is always more that can be done and we are constantly challenging ourselves to do better.
That’s why we – for our entire fleet – are committed to reach net-zero emissions by 2050. To accomplish this goal, we will are implementing various measures, such as transitioning to renewable fuels, adopting energy-efficient technologies, and optimizing operational practices. For instance, using renewable fuels can reduce overall lifecycle emissions when compared to fossil fuels.
MSC EURIBIA:
A NET-ZERO GREENHOUSE GAS EMISSIONS VOYAGE
For MSC Euribia’s departure from her shipyard in Saint-Nazaire, we have purchased over 400 tonnes of liquefied biogas (bio-LNG), produced from agricultural and municipal waste, using a mass-balance system that it has also been independently certified for sustainability credentials. The bio-LNG enables substantial lifecycle emissions reductions, on a well-to-wake basis, compared to conventional fossil fuels, and MSC Euribia’s first voyage represents another step in our energy transition toward net-zero emissions by 2050.
A team of dedicated energy efficiency specialists from both MSC Cruises and Chantiers de L’Atlantique will be on board to monitor and optimize every aspect of this voyage, from the configuration of the engines down to the speed of individual air-conditioning fans in guest cabins. And that’s not all: itinerary and speed will be optimized, too. All of these combined initiatives will save energy to reduce fuel consumption.
A CLEANER FUEL TO POWER CHANGE
MSC Euribia is the second ship in MSC Cruises’ fleet to be powered by Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG). The use of LNG reduces sulphur oxide (SOx) emissions by 99% and nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions by up to 85% compared with conventional marine fuels, while reducing CO2e emissions by up to 20%.
WATER THAT’S GOOD FOR THE SEA
All water that goes through our advanced wastewater treatment system - from washing laundry, dishes or the decks, goes through advanced treatment plants where it’s treated to a very high standard.
QUIET NIGHT EVERY DAY
MSC Euribia’s optimised hull design, the air lubrication system installed around the propeller together with latest-generation propellers combine to reduce underwater noise and vibration. So you can sleep undisturbed, comforted to know that the underwater life we pass is feeling more comfortable, too.
ENSURING WASTE ISN'T WASTED
Our comprehensive advanced waste management systems reduce, reuse, separate and recycle every item of waste on board, treating our planet’s precious resources with all the respect they deserve.
LIGHTING THAT’S LIGHT ON THE ENVIRONMENT
The energy efficient LED lighting used throughout MSC Euribia is up to 75% more efficient and lasts at least 7 times longer than traditional light bulbs. So, from the theatre spotlights to the feature lighting in our restaurants and multiple choices in each cabin, we don't just set the right mood, we save energy, too. For life on the light side.
RESPONSIBLE EXCURSIONS
We offer a wide variety of Protectours excursions centred around opportunities to help the environment or low-impact travel, like our Fjord Safari aboard a hybrid catamaran. So you can both discover and respect the beauty of our natural world while exploring ashore.
